Company’s EllieCares Volunteer Effort Gives Back to Local and National Charities
August 24, 2015 – Pleasanton, Calif. – Ellie Mae® (NYSE: ELLI), a leading provider of innovative on-demand software solutions and services for the residential mortgage industry, is supporting the East Bay affiliate of Habitat for Humanity by sponsoring a playhouse building event through the Company’s EllieCares volunteer program. On Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Ellie Mae headquarters in Pleasanton, California, more than 150 employees will participate in the Playhouse Program with Habitat for Humanity. The Playhouse Program is a unique opportunity that provides children in the community with a place to call their own. Through the program, volunteers work together to construct usable and durable children’s playhouses, which are then donated to families and community charities in the area. The playhouses will be distributed by The Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc.
“We’re honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity for another successful Ellie Mae volunteer event,” said Jonas Moe, vice president of product and head of the EllieCares volunteer program. “By donating even a few hours of time, we can make a huge impact on our local community. Our EllieCares program gives employees a variety of ways to give back through monthly events and flexible time and we’re proud to see so many teammates involved.”
Earlier this year, a team of Ellie Mae employees joined forces with the Alameda County Food Bank to sort, bag and distribute more than 45,000 pounds of produce. This amount in pounds is the equivalent to providing more than 35,000 meals for the local community. Later this year Ellie Mae will kick off the annual EllieCares Community Fundraiser, where teammates from across the country raise money for their nominated charities. Last year Ellie Mae raised $20,000 for the American Cancer Society and The Alzheimer’s Association through a raffle and silent auction.
“We have a long history of helping people achieve their American dream of homeownership and of being a part of a community,” said Jonathan Corr, Ellie Mae president and CEO. “As a growing company firmly rooted in the East Bay, and with offices across the country, we’re thrilled to give back to the communities where we live and work through volunteerism and philanthropy.”
