As spring housing market heats up, veteran loan officer says homebuyers
must stay positive and be persistent

April 13, 2021 – DANVERS, MA – Mortgage Network, Inc., one of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the eastern U.S., announced that Ezequiel “Zeek” Cruz has joined the company’s Burlington, Massachusetts branch as a loan officer and sales assistant. Cruz, who is licensed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, will help residents in both states with their home financing needs.

A longtime Essex County resident, Cruz (NMLS #907474) brings almost a decade of mortgage banking experience to his role. Previously, he served as a mortgage loan officer at Pentucket Bank and as a financial service associate with People’s United Bank. Cruz is involved in the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council and the Kiwanis Club of Methuen. Fluent in Spanish, Cruz is able to assist Hispanic borrowers, who have accounted for more than half of the homeownership growth in the U.S. over the past 10 years.

Cruz said homebuyers must be persistent in today’s market, as there are fewer homes for sale than buyers. “Searching for the right home takes time and can become frustrating,” he said. “I tell my customers not to get discouraged—many people are finding success in this market. The key is to be patient, stay positive, and find a loan officer who understands your needs and is committed to helping you achieve your goals. As the spring market heats up, we may see more homes for sale, too. So, don’t give up.”

“Ezequiel is a fantastic addition to our Burlington office,” said district manager Jane Stanton. “He has deep roots in the community and is focused on providing borrowers with the best possible experience, which is what we strive to do at Mortgage Network. Additionally, we’re happy to have him assisting our Spanish speaking customers with all of their homebuying and refinance needs.”

“I’m proud to continue my mortgage banking career at Mortgage Network,” said Cruz. “They’ve made me feel welcome and provide exceptional support. Plus, Mortgage Network’s customer service rankings are extremely high, which shows they’re doing things the right way. I’m looking forward to giving all my customers the high-level service they deserve and helping them reach their home financing goals.”
