Mortgage Network joined forces with Rebuilding Together Boston and Massachusetts MBA to rebuild home for widow of fallen soldier

DANVERS, MA – October 24, 2017 ─ Employees of Mortgage Network Inc., one of the country’s largest independent mortgage lenders, rece ntly spent time rebuilding the home of Sueheil Campbell, a widow whose husband was one of the first soldiers killed in the Iraq War.

Campbell lost her husband in 2007 and has two children. She purchased a home soon after losing her husband to fulfill his dream of buying a home for his family. Campbell’s home soon fell into disrepair.

Rebuilding Together Boston asked the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association and Mortgage Network to provide volunteers and resources to repair Campbell’s home. As a result, twelve Mortgage Network employees worked alongside other volunteers to weatherize the home, replace storm doors and windows, repair doors and walls, paint the kitchen ceiling, install smoke and CO monitors, and fix the back deck.

“My entire office looks forward to participating in this event every year,” says Ben McKillop NMLS#441877, branch manager of Mortgage Network’s Boston office. “We clear our schedules to make this event a top priority because of our passion for giving back to the community” adds McKillop.

“We love meeting the veteran’s family, who are so deserving of our help,” says McKillop.  “I personally feel it’s the least we can do and I’m grateful to lend a helping hand every year.”

Mortgage Network supports veterans all year round through various initiatives. Recently, the company sponsored an event at Chelsea Soldiers’ Home in July and participated in Run for the Troops in April.
