West Roxbury branch manager recognized twice by Scotsman Guide magazine
May 8, 2019 – DANVERS, MA – Mortgage Network, Inc., one of the largest independent mortgage bankers in the eastern U.S., announced that Sofia A. Travayiakis, branch manager and senior loan officer with the company’s West Roxbury, Massachusetts branch, was recently recognized as both a 2018 Top Originator and a 2018 Top Woman Originator by Scotsman Guide, a national trade publication.
Travayiakis (NMLS #34458) originated over $74.9 million in mortgage loans last year, according to the publication, placing her among the top 200 female mortgage originators in the U.S. and among the top 500 originators overall. Scotsman Guide’s rankings drew upon thousands of submissions by mortgage professionals in the magazine’s annual Top Originators rankings, which were published in April.
Travayiakis, who joined Mortgage Network in 2015 and specializes in working with first-time homebuyers, has worked in the mortgage business for more than 20 years. She began her career as a loan processor at the age of 18 while earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Utah.
“It’s no surprise to us that Sofia has been recognized by Scotsman Guide, as she is extremely talented and works very hard to take care of each one of her customers,” said Mortgage Network CEO Robert McInnes. “It’s experienced, highly skilled mortgage experts like Sofia who have made Mortgage Network one of the most trusted lenders in the markets we serve.”
Travayiakis has amassed several top-level recognitions over the past few years, including Boston Agent magazine’s “Who’s Who in 2017.” Recently, she made the list of the Top 1% of Mortgage Originators in America by Mortgage Executive magazine and was named a Top 100 Originator for 2018 by the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America (NAMMBA), a national trade association representing minorities and women in the mortgage industry.
“While it’s an honor to be recognized for my sales performance, my real joy comes from helping people find the best possible financing to fit their needs and get into homes they can afford,” Travayiakis said. “My goal has always been to provide the best customer experience and take the stress out of the home buying process for every borrower.”
In her spare time, Travayiakis teaches Greek dance lessons and is an active volunteer in the community. She is a supporter of Angel Smiles and Boston Children’s Hospital and a member of the Pancretan Association of America and the National Association of Professional Women.
