To succeed in this chaotic housing market, homebuyers should remain calm and be prepared, says company’s newest loan officer

March 7, 2022 –  Danvers, Massachusetts ─ Mortgage Network, Inc., one of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the eastern U.S., announced Stephanie McKim has joined the company’s Laconia, New Hampshire office as a loan officer. McKim will be responsible for helping borrowers throughout New Hampshire with their home financing needs.

McKim (NMLS #2235106) said homebuyers must stay calm and be prepared in order to succeed in today’s local housing market, which she described as “chaotic.”

“Inventory is at a 23-year low, inflation is rising, and even though interest rates are still relatively low, they are rising as well,” McKim said. “Knowing that we are in one of the most competitive markets ever, homebuyers need to take a deep breath and find a trusted loan officer and Realtor to work with. Having the right team on your side is more important than ever.”

McKim said potential homebuyers should also get preapproved for financing early, so they know their true buying power. Buyers can expect to make a down payment of between 3% and 20%, and there are homebuyer assistance programs available for those who qualify, she said.

“Having the ability to close your loan without issues gives you a real advantage,” she said. “Credit scores are also important, so it is vital to talk with your loan officer well in advance of your intended purchase to understand what can affect your credit score during the home buying process.”

Prior to joining Mortgage Network, McKim worked as a Realtor in the Laconia area. She graduated from Belmont High School and earned a degree in paralegal studies from New Hampshire Technical Institute. She later earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University with a concentration in organizational leadership.

“Stephanie is a fantastic addition to our team,” said Laconia Branch Manager Jane F. Jordan, CMP (NMLS #40681). “After spending years as a successful Realtor, she brings many strong industry connections throughout the area to her new role. I have no doubt she’ll provide homebuyers with unparalleled assistance to successfully navigate today’s complicated market.”

“Mortgage Network has a strong presence in New Hampshire with an excellent reputation among consumers,” said McKim. “Joining the Laconia branch made perfect sense to me since I grew up in the area and raised my three kids here.

“Buying a home is one of the most important transactions in my clients’ lives, and I’ve never taken their confidence for granted,” she added. “I look forward to continue helping homebuyers and homeowners with all their home financing needs, and being their guide and trusted partner throughout the process.”
